A Freudian slip, also called parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is interpreted as occurring due to the interference of an unconscious (“dynamically repressed”) subdued wish, conflict, or train of thought guided by the ego and the rules of correct behavior. They reveal a “source outside the speech”. The concept is thus part of classical psychoanalysis.
Without overthinking and clearly just observing the obvious, what do these four “misstatements” have in common?
- Visited 57 states
- My Muslim faith
- we are training ISIL
- strengthing Shia
If someone “slipped up” and made these statements over a period of time, what connection would you personally make from a psychoanalysis viewpoint?
So, I don’t know what 57 states mean other than it being an imcorrect statement. What does it have to do with Islam?

Kathy, there are currently 57 Islamic States. Also, it would be highly unlikely for any of us to know that there are 50 States and randomly make a mistake by choosing the number 57.
