Midnight Cry
It is on my heart to share with you the scripture that the Lord has had on my heart for months now. It seems to fit right along with all the other places He has had me in in His Word. But this particluar passage I can not shake from my thoughts. As the day draws near, there is both encouragement and warning for us all. Not one of us can say at one time or another we have not been ‘asleep’ to the things going on around us or in the Church. Our Lord has been a long time in coming, and with all the scoffers around you can almost begin to feel the shouts of the enemy yelling at you, “Go back to sleep.” Reminds me of when I was a little girl and I would have a nightmare. I would wake up violently from a dream and my mother would lay her hand on my back or head and whisper to me “It’s okay, it was not real. Nothing serious, go back to sleep.” I have no doubt that is where the enemy is trying to keep us today. But I want to challange you and encourage those of you watching and walking with our Lord Jesus, to keep pressing into His Word. Keep surrendering your heart and mind to Him that He may prepare you and lead you into Truth. I posted the video above as an encouragement to all my dear sisters who need that encouragement to continue to stand firm in these last days. Whether the enemy is trying to rob your joy and peace with sickness, financial struggles, temptation or doubt, remember Jesus who is faithful. The One who is forever! (These things will come dear friends. We are not immune from the attacks and the trials). Satan’s time is so short now. Let us not give into the distractions, the false teachings and the busyness of this world. Instead let us be filling our lamps with oil, abiding in His love and Word and faithfully watching. If we are not, we will be found on that day to be totally disappointed. Read the scriptures below and let the Lord speak to your spirit, that you may be encouraged to remain awake and ready!
Matt 25 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise, however, took oil in jars aloong with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet Him!’ Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.” “No, they replied, there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves. But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Later the others also came, “Lord Lord” (correct translation) they said, Open the door for us!’ “But He replied, I tell you the truth, I don’t know you. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”
I too have had this verse heavy on my mind. You see, I struggle with things in my life that I wish to be free from, and yet I am very much aware of what’s going on.
I am scared of being one of the 5 that are left out. What does that mean? Is He speaking to those who just don’t see that He’s returning? Are the other brides pure or do they struggle themselves, but still worship Him?
I am excited with all that I see, and yet I see even more clearly my own unsitely wedding dress and that disturbs me more.
Calypso,
There is no doubt that the enemy and our own flesh constantly give us things to struggle with. As long as we are alive we cannot escape those things. But Christ does give us victory over them. Those who are in Christ, though we struggle and stumble will continue to walk in the light as He is in the light and will continue to repent when they fall. The 5 foolish not only were sleeping, but never prepared. They love the world and the things of the world. I so want to encourage you. Whatever things you are struggling with, just the fact that you want to be free from them shows a great step with Christ. You know who to run to for that victory. I promise you He will give it to you. I have seen it numerous times in my own life. If you know your wedding garments to be stained and corrupted take them back to the One who can clean them. Repent and trust Jesus for the victory. We do not ever want to be found holding to a form of godliness but denying it’s power thereof. If we walk with Christ then we know that power. And if you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear, then Jesus is just that one prayer away from doing mighty things on your behalf! The 5 wise brides are prepared. And they only reason they are pure is because of their faith in Jesus Christ. They abide in Him and are prepared at His return. I am praying that your relationship with Jesus Christ in these very last days will be like nothing you have ever known before! Stand firm, you can overcome with His power.
